Starbucks & Father's Day

This past weekend Gabe experienced his first visit to Starbucks. We met up with Darren & Kryssa and their little girl, Tegan. He had a good time looking around and drooling all over mommy. Tegan spent her visit sleeping soundly. Gabe can't wait until she's a little older and can play. Then we can have a real playdate. Right now playdates are just for mommy to talk to adults!
Mike got to celebrate his first Father's Day on Sunday. He got a big breakfast, a long nap, and pecan pie. He also will be getting a new iPhone as well. He's pretty excited about that :)
We have also decided to go back to Indiana/Ohio in September for a visit. We'll be there Sept. 4-13. We are very excited about the visit since none of our extended family members have met Gabe yet.

Helping Daddy

This week Gabe decided to help daddy check emails. He liked to play with the keys on the keyboard and stare at the brightly colored screen. I'm sure Mike will be trying to teach him code in Excel soon ;)

Summer Walks

During the last few weeks I have started taking Gabe and Annie on walks around the neighborhood. Luckily we have a nice neighborhood to walk in and the weather has been great. It takes a little coordination with Gabe in the stroller and Annie on her leash darting back and forth in front of the stroller. The pictures are from today's walk. Gabe getting dressed and ready in the nursery, getting settled into the stroller, and then resting when we got back from the walk. He recently discovered he can suck on his fingers when there isn't a pacifier available.

Growing, Growing, Growing

Gabe seems to be growing a lot recently. Last week he rolled over for the first time. He did it 3 times in a row and hasn't rolled over since. Unfortunately daddy missed it because he was at work. But we hope that Gabe will get the hang of it soon. He is just able to roll from his back to his side right now. He also will sit up in the bumbo instead of slouching and sucking on the side of it. He is already in 6 month clothing and got to wear an Ohio State Buckeyes outfit that his uncle got for him. He also held a bottle for the first time... we have been supplementing with formula for the past 2 weeks. He spits up a lot less with formula for some reason. He hasn't outgrown the acid reflux yet, but the doctor said that most babies will outgrow it around 4-6 months.
He will be 4 months old on June 13th and his 4 month checkup is scheduled for the beginning of July (a little late). We are so excited to see him grow!

Garden

This year we decided to plant a garden.  Mike made a raised garden box in the backyard and then I planted a blueberry bush, strawberries, pumpkin vine, and a cucumber plant.  These pictures were taken shortly after we planted the garden.  We can't wait to eat fresh fruit and veggies from our own garden.  Hopefully we'll be able to let Gabe pick out a pumpkin for Halloween out of our backyard as well!

Beautiful Weather

Recently we have been having beautiful sunny and warm days.  Last week we took advantage of the weather and joined some friends on a walk on Centennial trail in Snohomish.  We enjoyed the walk, but on the way back it was a long line of unhappy babies that needed naps :)
This past week, Gabe rolled over for the first time (from belly to back).  He rolled over 3 times in a row, but hasn't done it since.  Hopefully he will start rolling over again so that Mike gets to see.
