Beatin' the Heat

It's been very hot for the past few days and will continue to be hot for the rest of the week. (90-100 degrees) And without air conditioning, Gabe and I have had to get creative to stay cool. Since we don't have a pool, cool baths and Gabe sporting just a diaper most of the time are a few of the ways to cool off.
Gabe likes to watch me water the lawn every night. He just sits in his bumbo seat and supervises the sprinkler.

Cannon Beach

We took a short vacation to Cannon Beach during Jenna's visit as well. It was a very nice opportunity to get away for a few days and Gabe did incredibly well sleeping in a new place and on the long car ride. Unfortunately he is a little too young for the beach, he kept trying to eat the beach umbrella. Well try again in a year or so when he can actually play in the sand.

Rice Cereal & Bananas

While Jenna was visiting, Gabe got to try rice cereal and bananas for the first time. He liked them alot but couldn't quite figure out how to keep the food in his mouth. We can't wait to see his reactions to other types of food as he grows.

Aunt Jenna's Visit

My sister, Jenna, came to visit over the past week. We stayed very busy and did a lot while she was here. Gabe was very excited to have someone new to play with him and spoil him all day everyday! Gabe had his first experience on the swings and showed Jenna how good he is getting at rolling over.

4 Month Stats

Yesterday was Gabe's 4 month appointment (about 3 weeks late). Here's his stats:
Weight: 14 lbs 10 oz. (23rd percentile)
Height: 25.79" (59th percentile)
Head Circumference: 44.4 cm (86th percentile)

He got two shots and an oral vaccine. He was a little cranky last night and today, but we are hoping that he gets back to normal quickly. We are all looking forward to Aunt Jenna's visit. She is coming to Seattle late tomorrow and staying for a little over a week. Gabe can't wait for someone new to spoil him!

Fourth of July

We had a busy weekend, but it was lots of fun. Mike had Friday off and we got to spend the day as a family. We met Tegan for Jamba Juice earlier in the day and then went over to her house for a delicious dinner prepared by her mom, Kryssa. Tegan and Gabe boycotted the idea of sleeping soundly so that we could play Settlers of Catan, so we listened to cranky, crying babies for a little while then gave up and came home. On Saturday we met up with the Long family to have a picnic lunch at the Ballard locks. Gabe enjoyed sleeping in the stroller while we watched the boats and salmon. Then we went to the Long's house and enjoyed some dinner followed by some "fireworks" (aka--sparklers). Gabe enjoyed staring at the sparklers and drooling all over mom. Carter really enjoyed the festivities, but the big boys enjoyed throwing the snaps at each other.
Sunday was a day of recovery. After church, Gabe played for a little while and then crashed for a 2 1/2 hour nap which was enjoyed by all :)

Sleepy Boy

This is what I found when I went to wake Gabe up yesterday morning.
