Walking Videos

As promised, here are some videos of Gabe walking. In about a week he was able to get pretty good at walking, but he does still fall down. Unfortunately he has been very difficult for the past 3 weeks. He stopped sleeping until 7 and now wakes up sometime between 5:30-6:30, crying and still only takes a 30 min to 1 hour nap. He spends most of his day whining and upset. We hope that all this crankiness is due to teething (molars) and will go away so we can have a happy baby again.

Walking & the Dentist

Gabe finally started walking on his own last night. He's is 14 1/2 months old now and took his time to make sure he knew what he was doing before he would risk falling down. He walked around the house today a lot, but crawled some because it was faster. I'm going to try to get a good video tomorrow to post.
He had another first today--his first dentist appointment. He was not a fan of the dentist. He has hypo-calcification of his front teeth, but the dentist said not to worry because they are baby teeth and were probably affected by the antibiotics that he was on so early in life and the trauma he went through during birth. He cried a lot when the dentist was checking out his teeth and gums, but then calmed down pretty quickly when he realized that she spread bubble gum flavored fluoride all over his teeth. He licked his lips for a little bit and was over the trauma quickly :)

BABIES

One of our friends showed us this Focus Films movie trailer a while ago and recently through BzzAgent I am able to share it with you. Here's the description of the movie that opens in theaters on Mother's Day weekend (May 7th): "this visually stunning new movie simultaneously follows four babies around the world - from first breath to first steps. From Mongolia to Namibia to San Francisco to Tokyo, BABIES joyfully captures on film the earliest stages of the journey of humanity that are at once unique and universal to us all"
I am a little biased because I am a mommy, but these babies are so adorable and I think it will be very interesting to see how babies are raised around the world. And it looks like a really cute, enjoyable movie too! I already feel a little bit better about Gabe eating some sand from the beach after watching the trailer :)

I'm not really sure what Gabe would do if he was able to take a bath with a goat or crawl in a field with cows, but something tells me he would love it! He is definitely all boy and loves to get dirty and play with animals!

Family Visit & Getaway

Aunt Jenna and Grandma Boston came to visit Gabe for a week and left early Monday morning this week. Gabe thoroughly enjoyed all the attention and getting small bites of cookies from his Aunt Jenna. Mike and I were able to get away (for the first time since Gabe was born) and go to the Chrysalis Inn & Spa in Bellingham, WA for 2 nights. We both got massages and relaxed the whole time, it was great! Over this past weekend we went up to Skagit County to see the tulips that are blooming early this year. Gabe wasn't cooperating when I tried to get a picture of him standing next to a field. He wouldn't smile at all, he was way too interested in the nails in the crates and all the mud that I wouldn't let him play with. But we did get one decent picture.

We got Gabriel to walk with the Push-n-Ride today and he took right off. He needs to work a little on his turns though.

Yogurt

Gabe is definitely a good eater, sometimes a little picky, but he will always eat. His favorite food to eat is yogurt. He loooooves it! He gets so excited when he sees the container come out of the fridge and panics until he gets to eat it. Recently I got to try out Horizon Little Blends for free from BzzAgent (word of mouth program that I belong to). It is yogurt blended with fruit and vegetables. Gabe loves them! He tried the banana & sweet potato, which was a big hit. I like them because I know he is getting some veggies and extra DHA to help him grow. I wish I could capture how excited he gets about his yogurt, but the pictures will have to do.
